Have a look around. Most things here began with curiosity.

I grew up in Melbourne and studied architecture at Deakin University. Most of my working life since has been independent, moving between design, making and building — from running a furniture workshop in Australia to retail and development work in the Middle East, and projects in Sri Lanka.

That varied path is probably why the work here crosses so easily between scales and disciplines. I’m happiest staying close to how things are made, working with the people who make them, and following an idea far enough to see what it can become.

I like simple things that do a lot of work.

Some things I want resolved to the millimetre. Others I keep designing as they’re being made.

I’ve never really known where the work stops and the rest of life begins. I like it that way.

I like things I can keep using for years — things that gradually become old friends.

I’m interested in things that age gracefully, rather than being at their best on the day they’re finished.

I like finding another life for things that still have one in them.

Making something usually teaches me something I can use the next time.

Ideas are a large part of the pleasure for me. So is turning them into something real.

I consider the people who will live with something to be as much a part of the brief as the site, budget and materials.
